Franz Kafka (1883-1924), was a a writer whose stories often explored themes of alienation, suffering, and transformation. Some of Kafka’s most widely read works include The Metamorphosis, The Trial, and In the Penal Colony.  

A “kvetch” is a Yiddish word that identifies someone as a chronic complainer.
