Additional Information

The Louisiana Superdome, formally known as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, is a sports venue located in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is mainly used as the home field for the National Football League team the New Orleans Saints, but also serves as the venue for other sporting events, such as the Sugar Bowl and the New Orleans College Bowl. The dome gained recognition after housing thousands of people who were seeking shelter during Hurricane Katrina.

The dome opened in 1975 but was closed in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina, which caused damage to the building. In 2006 the dome was completely refurbished and reopened in time for the Saints' home opener game.
