The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is an organization established in 1970 fighting against type 1 diabetes. It is first known as the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. JDRF strives to fund research, advocate for policies that accelerate access to new therapies, and provide support for millions impacted by type 1 diabetes. Founded by parents determined to find a cure for children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF expanded its advocacy efforts to become a large scientific community in type 1 diabetes research. JDRF has funded more than $2 billion in research and helped provide better therapies and longer and healthier lives to patients diagnosed with type 1 diabetes while waiting for the cure.
