This button was part of a mid-1980’s advertising campaign by the American fast food chain Wendy’s, promoting later hours at some drive-thru pick-up windows. Wendy’s was established in Columbus, OH in 1969 by entrepreneur Dave Thomas. In 1971, it became the first fast food restaurant to equip its pick-up window with a dedicated grill—now the industry standard. By 1981, Wendy’s had more than 1,800 restaurants, and the pick-up window is often credited as a major factor in the company's success and rapid expansion.
