| Additional Information | Van Halen is an American rock band formed in 1972 initially under the name Mammoth, but changed to Van Halen in 1974. The band consisted of Eddie Van Halen (guitarist), David Lee Roth (vocalist), Alex Van Halen (drummer) and Michael Anthony (bassist). Sammy Hagar eventually replaced David Lee Roth as lead vocalist in 1985. Former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone replaced Hager in 1996, but left the band in 1999. The band’s debut album titled “Van Halen,” released in 1978, was considered revolutionary and original and helped to influence rock and roll from that point forward. In 2007, Van Halen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. David Lee Roth returned as lead vocalist, and Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang replaced bassist Michael Anthony. |
