The rainbow design around the button was to imitate the logo for KLOS 95.5 FM, a classic rock radio station in Los Angeles, California. In the late 1980s, a company produced and sold buttons using this logo with the names of various popular musicians in the middle. The rainbow logo was very recognizable in the Los Angeles area. The buttons were made and distributed without the authorization of KLOS. The station was co-owned by KABC, the Los Angeles affiliate of  American Broadcasting Company. The legal department of KLOS/ABC Radio shut the company down and confiscated all inventory.
