Additional Information | This photo of Belinda Carlisle, lead singer of The Go-Go's, was adapted from the cover of their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," in 1981. It featured hit singles like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." In 1978, the Go-Go's were one of the first female bands to write, produce, and play their own songs, which were a mix of pop, punk, and rock. After a 30-year cocaine addiction, Belinda Carlisle is now a vegetarian and proponent of animal rights. Belinda went on to record several more albums and still tours today. |
