Additional Information

The Kleen Maid Kiddies Klub broadcast over WIBM. The station began broadcasting from Jackson, Michigan in 1924 and is still on the air today. Kleen Maid was a brand of bread, best known for being the first sliced bread. Otto Frederick Rohwedder, an American inventor, filed a patent on his machine in 1928 that sliced a whole loaf of bread at one time. He then sold a model of his invention to M.F. Bench’s Chillicothe Bakery in Missouri, who in turn marketed and sold the Kleen Maid Sliced Bread in the same year.
