Additional Information

Old Crow Bourbon was created by James Crow, a Scottish immigrant, in Frankfort, Kentucky in the early 1800s. After nearly a century of operations, the Old Crow Distillery closed in 1987 when Old Crow was acquired by Beam Suntory, a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings. Following the merger, Old Crow Bourbon is produced from the same whiskey as Jim Beam Bourbon. However, to make Old Crow the whiskey is aged for less time so the resulting product has a lower proof.

There are many references to Old Crow in popular culture. The drink was reportedly a favorite of Mark Twain and Hunter S. Thompson.
