Goldwater 1964 Gold Flakes
Globe containing gold flakes (originally suspended in liquid) on the center of the button with blue text and white background.
Very interesting and unusual button that has a material that looks like gold (formerly) suspended in a clear liquid resembling water. Barry Goldwater ran in the 1964 presidential election against incumbent Lyndon B. Johnson, who took over after John F. Kennedy was asassinated. Johnson was still associated with Kennedy's popularity and won 61.1% of the popular vote, the highest margin since 1820.
