Masson Elementary School in Lorain, Ohio, opened in September, 1959, and its mascot was the Mustangs. Nearly sixty years later, the board of education voted to close the school due to a $4.7 million budget deficit and a state of fiscal emergency. Masson Elementary School closed its doors in the 2012-2013 school year, and is set to be demolished.
