WCAE radio station and the Sun-Telegraph newspaper were based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The radio station was started by the Kaufmann & Baer clothing company in June 1922 while the Sun-Telegraph began in 1927. The two companies became affiliates after both were purchased by the Hearst Publishing Company. WCAE would broadcast the newspaper's stories until it became a television station in 1958. Because of low sales, Sun-Telegraph ended circulation in 1960. WCAE went on to change its letters and managed by different companies, the most recent being Radio Disney.
