The official flag of the United States of America consists of thirteen red and white alternating horizontal stripes with a separate blue section in the top left corner with 50 stars representing each of the states of the USA.  Also known as Old Glory, the Star-Spangled Banner, and the Stars and Stripes, this version of the flag was adopted on July 4, 1960 and is the longest-used version of the flag.
