Additional Information

The B-52’s were a New Wave band from Athens, Georgia formed in 1976. “Dance This Mess Around” was a song off their debut self-titled album released in 1979 with Island Records and Warner Bros. Records. Known for their kitschy subject matter, the lyrics of this song reference all sorts of dance crazes of the 1950’s and 1960’s (both real and imagined) including, the Camel Walk, the Hippy Hippy Shake, the Shy Tuna, the Aqua-Velva, and the Escalator.
