Additional Information | Calvin Coolidge was the 30th president of the United States and served from 1923 to 1929. He became president on August 3, 1923, when 29th President Warren G. Harding died of a heart attack. Coolidge served only one full term. It is often stated that President Coolidge was known more for what he did not do for the country, than what he did. During his presidency, the nation was in the midst of the roaring twenties and the economy was booming; it was shortly after Coolidge retired that the Great Depression struck. |
