Additional Information | "Dark Horse" is the fifth album by George Harrison. It was released in 1974. The album shifted Harrison out of the rock genre and more into the funk and soul musical genres. It is associated with a destabilizing time period in Harrison's life, due to his divorce from his first wife, model Patti Boyd. The album demonstrates this upheaval as well as Harrison's spiritual transformations. George Harrison was a former member of The Beatles. Following the band's breakup, Harrison became a successful solo artist who released 12 solo albums between 1968 and 2002. He is considered by Rolling Stone Magazine to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time - coming in at number 11 out of 100 guitarists. He is also a two-time inductee at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being a member of The Beatles and for his solo career. |
