Additional Information | The Chicago Heart Association, originally known as the Chicago Association for the Prevention and Relief of Heart Disease, was founded by Dr. James B. Herrick in 1922. Herrick also served as the Association’s first president. The mission of the Chicago Heart Association is threefold: to educate doctors and the general public about heart disease, to coordinate and mobilize organizations working with heart disease, and to promote further research into heart disease—particularly related to public health. |
