Additional Information | Star Trek began as a television series and has since become one of the most popular science-fiction franchises. Set in the 23rd century, the series follows the adventures of the crew aboard the starship USS Enterprise, who are tasked with exploring space for new life and civilizations. Their mission began after the Vulcans, an advanced and benevolent alien species, gave humanity the technology to travel faster than light. The crew frequently encounter other alien species such as the belligerent Klingons. Despite the original series only spanning from 1966-1969, its popularity sparked a number of spin-off series and movies that continue to the present day. |
