Additional Information | Fonzie, also known as "The Fonz," nickname of Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli is a fictional character played by Henry Winkler in the 1970s American sitcom Happy Days, which ran from 1974 to 1984. He was originally a secondary character, but was soon promoted to a leading role when he proved to be the most popular character on the show. Fonzie, with a leather jacket and signature thumbs-up gesture, grew into a cultural phenomenon, and today, the character is still embraced as a symbol for somebody who is cool and relaxed. |
