Additional Information | Friends World College was founded in 1965 by George L. Nicklin and sponsored by the New York Yearly Meeting. The college was unconventional as it was based on Quaker principles and required students to travel to satellite schools in different countries for each year of study. When the College became independent of the New York Yearly Meeting, it struggled to stay stable financially and student enrollment wavered. In 1991, the College merged with Long Island University and is now a study abroad program. |
