This photo of Gina Shock, drummer of The Go-Go's, was adapted from the cover of their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," in 1981. It featured hit singles like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed."

In 1978, the Go-Go's were one of the first female bands to write, produce, and play their own songs, which were a mix of pop, punk, and rock. In addition to being the drummer, Gina has written songs for Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.
