Additional Information | This photo of Kathy Valentine, bass guitarist of The Go-Go's, was adapted from the cover of their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," in 1981. It featured hit singles like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." In 1978, the Go-Go's were one of the first female bands to write, produce, and play their own songs, which were a mix of pop, punk, and rock. During her 31 years with the band, Kathy Valentine co-wrote "Vacation", "Head Over Heels", and "The Whole World Lost Its Head", sued the band in 2013 over song profits, had stints with the Delphines and the Bluebonnets, and is now enjoying a solo career. |
