Additional Information | This button is an illustration of the album cover art for The Grateful Dead's 7th album, Grateful Dead. The artwork is often nicknamed "skull and roses" and was made by Alton Kelly and Stanley Mouse. It is based on an illustration for Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. The album is the band's second live album and was released in October 1971. It is most well known for being the first time the band acknowledged their "Dead Head" fan base by asking followers to contact the band via mail. |
