Additional Information | One of the titans of pulp, the Green Hornet first sprung to life in 1936. The eponymous radio show, created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker and broadcasted alongside other programs such as The Lone Ranger, detailed the exploits of Britt Reid and his sidekick Kato, masked vigilantes who pretended to be criminals in order to battle corruption. The series rapidly gained popularity and was adapted for a wide variety of media, including comic books, films, and a television show.
Starring Van Williams as Britt Reid and Bruce Lee as Kato, the show only ran for one season from 1966 to 1967. Notable for being Lee’s first major role, The Green Hornet introduced martial arts to American television audiences. The wearer of this button would’ve been proudly displaying their enjoyment of the show. |
