The Ohio State Medical Association was established in 1846 to ensure physicians held degrees from recognized medical schools. Their mission is to bring together physicians across the state of Ohio. The OSMA helps empower physicians, residents, and medical students to advocate for their patients, communities, and profession. They uphold the sanctity of the physician-patient relationship and are concerned with access to high-quality, affordable health care. The organization is interested in innovations that revolutionize health care and improve the health of patients and their experience. The OSMA also works with the state department on health and legislative issues. The goals of the Ohio State Medical Association are medical liability reform, political advocacy, education, and physician leadership.
