Additional Information | The Borough of Beaver Pennsylvania is located in Beaver County about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh and sits at the confluence of the Ohio River and the Beaver River. Officially formalized in 1802, the area was in use long before that by indigenous people including the Shawnee and later the Delaware. Beaver is also the home of Fort McIntosh, the Continental Army’s first fort built north of the Ohio River. Fort McIntosh played a crucial role in America’s fight for independence, serving as the Continental Army’s western headquarters. |
