Fashion "don'ts" are trends or specific outfits considered to be unsuccessful, unfashionable, and potentially embarrassing, while fashion "dos" are considered successful trends that should be followed. The practice of keeping up with trends in this way may have originated with Glamour magazine, who first began featuring their "Dos and Don'ts" list in 1939.
