Freline created items to promote libraries and literacy, eventually founding the subsidiary, Upstart, to create such items in Hagerstown, MD. Upstart was later sold to Highsmith Inc in 1993, and eventually made its way to Demco by the early 2000's. The magazines, records, books, film reels, and newspaper on this button represent the items one could find in a library in 1978, and they are all offered for free.
