Additional Information | In the 1960's, Robert Francis Kennedy (RFK), brother to President John F. Kennedy, bid to be the 1968 Democratic nominee for President. After winning the California Democratic Primary on June 5, 1968, Robert Kennedy was mortally wounded by Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Kennedy had served as a close advisor to JFK, a U.S. Attorney General from 1961-1964, and a U.S. Senator from New York from 1965 until his death in 1968. |
