Additional Information | "Lush" is a slang term that refers to a person who is often, or messily, drunk. The origin of the term is unclear. It first came into popular use in England in the 1820s, coinciding with the peak years of the buzzy London nightclub City of Lushington. The club's name may have been a tribute to Loschen, a potent German beer, or lush, a word in the Irish traveler lexicon meaning "to drink". |
