Additional Information | These two cheeky crocs are likely a reference to the iconic logo for French luxury clothing brand Lacoste. Lacoste was founded in 1933 by world champion French tennis player René Lacoste (1904-1996), whose playing techniques gave him the nickname the “crocodile,” inspiring the logo which is depicted on the company's shirts and polos. In the 1980s, the crocodile was a status symbol for preppy fashion and suburban culture. Lacoste has been a desirable brand since it inception, selling products outside of clothing such as perfumes, sportswear, and watches. |
