Additional Information | On the Redlands ballot in 2010, it stated that measure O, “Shall the Initiative Ordinance of the People of Redlands Adding Chapter 18.275 to the Redlands Municipal Code to prohibit the Approval of “Mega-Retail Development” be adopted”. This was meant to halt the construction of a Wal-Mart in the area. Those who wanted this passed believed it would harm local businesses. Those opposed to this measure believed the retail chain could provide more jobs. The final result was 55% of the voters saying no, which meant the Wal-Mart was allowed to be built. |
