The Mooney Suzuki is an American band, now on hiatus, mainly active in the late 1990s and 2000s. The band was first formed in 1996 and its first songs were released in 1998. The band’s name comes from the names of members of the German rock band, Can: Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki.

The Mooney Suzuki also performed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and wrote music for the movie School of Rock, starring Jack Black. The band has since made appearances in movies such as Fun with Dick and Jane and Tropic Thunder. The band is currently on hiatus and their last album, Have Mercy, was released in 2007. In 2019, The Mooney Suzuki returned briefly to perform at the Mercury Lounge in New York as part of the venue's 25th anniversary celebration.
