Additional Information | This button is for MTV (Music Television) which was born in the late 1970's by Warner Communications and American Express. The two companies began the first, two way interactive cable TV system- Qube, in Columbus, Ohio. Qube featured many different programming options- including children's shows, sporting events, and a channel specifically for music- Sight on Sound. On August 1, 1981 Sight on Sound was renamed MTV and aired their first music video by the Buggles, "Video Killed the Radio Star." |
