| Additional Information | In 1963, the Pennsylvania Rail Road (PRR) began Operation Beaver, a campaign to cosmetically cover deferred maintenance. This included painting, fixing, and cleaning stations and cars that was overdue. For example, the Altoona Station, which was formally a red brick exterior, was painted white with a red base. Posters and buttons were created as part of the campaign. |
