British post-punk band the Raincoats released their second album Odyshape in 1981. Odyshape featured numerous musical genres and exotic instruments, including the balophone and the kalimba. The album's experimental sound was described by critics as a departure from the band's debut album. The album cover was based on a painting from the 1930s by Russian artist Kazimir Malevich titled Peasant Woman.
