Additional Information | Dr. Jerry Schenken (1933-2001) was the Republican candidate for the 1988 election to the United States House of Representatives for Nebraska’s Second District. Dr. Schenken was narrowly defeated by the Democratic candidate, Peter Hoagland. Dr. Schenken did not run for political office again, but he did stay active in the political realm serving as Nebraska State Republican Party Chairman from 1991 -1995. His impressive medical career spanned more than 35 years of clinical pathology, instructor of pathology, and Director of Pathology at Nebraska Methodist Hospital, and at Children's Hospital where he served until his death in 2001. |
