Additional Information | The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is a federal government agency of the United States, founded in 1958. It is the successor of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA) before the U.S. government shifted its focus on space, leading to the space race during the 1960s. NASA had led numerous space expeditions, robotic explorations, and moon landings, most notable the Apollo moon landings. Nearly 50 years after our last visit to the moon, NASA continues advancing space science through its involvement with the International Space Station and other innovative projects. |
