Additional Information | First appearing in the 1980 film, The Empire Strikes Back, Jedi Master Yoda is portrayed as a puppet that is performed by voice actor, Frank Oz. Originally, Yoda is characterized as an ancient hermit who lives in exile on the planet of Dagobah. It is through Yoda that the series protagonist, Luke Skywalker, is able to begin learning the ways of the force. In the prequel trilogy, Yoda is seen as one of the leaders of the Jedi council, leading his fellow Jedi during the Clone Wars. In these films, Yoda is now played through CGI effects and is again voiced by Frank Oz. Upon his first appearance, Master Yoda has become one of the series most iconic characters due to his appearance and unique speech pattern. This is one of a series of buttons made to promote the release of the film Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. |
