| Additional Information | 2010: the Year We Made Contact is a 1984 science fiction film. It was the sequel to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. Peter Hyams directed, wrote, and produced the film. Helen Mirren, John Lithgow, and Rob Scheider starred, among others. The film tells the story of how the Soviet Union and the United States team up for a joint mission to space to explore what happened to the spacecraft Discovery. Events that follow see the crews of both nations having to work together to defeat a giant alien and make it home alive. |
