The 1978 Lord of the Rings animated film produced by Ralph Bakshi. This was the first adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien novels and the rights for the film were given by his daughter to Bakshi. The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers were both covered in the film is just 133 minutes! To promote the film, a set of 6 buttons were produced including Aragorn, Bilbo, Frodo, Gandalf, Gollum, and Samwise. Now they are considered collector's items. The voice actor for Aragorn in the film was John Hurt. Peter Jackson was inspired by the animated film and was first introduced to Lord of the Rings by them. A toast to the animated film in Jackson's film is that the voice actor in 1978 for Frodo Baggins later played Bilbo Baggins for Jackson's adaptation.
