Additional Information | William Waugh-Smith, president of Randolph-Macon College (R-MC), founded Randolph-Macon Women's College (R-MWC) in 1891 in Lynchburg, Virginia, so women could get the equitable education as men when integrating women at R-MC failed. R-MWC started out with 36 students and 12 professors in fall 1893. R-MWC grew exponentially and gained a reputation for its academic prowess and international focus. R-MWC changed to Randolph College and became co-ed officially in summer 2007. Randolph College (RC) is a private liberal arts college with undergraduate and graduate programs emphasizing small class sizes, accessible professors, individualized education, and student engagement on/beyond campus. RC is consistently featured on national rankings by guidebooks including Forbes, The Princeton Review, and U.S. News & World Report. It was the 8th college to have its own e-sports team! |
