Additional Information | Beavis & Butthead were two teenage deadbeats who loved heavy metal music, making fun of people, and television. They often commented that anything and everything was either "cool" or "sucked." Their 1/2 hour animated TV show (titled Beavis & Butthead) first aired in March of 1993 on MTV and episodes alternated between plots following the often crude and dumb antics of Beavis & Butthead and music video clips which they would comment on. Beavis & Butthead's obsession with fire, pranks, and anything sexual lead to a lot of criticism from pundits and parents, enough so that MTV had to eventually add a disclaimer before the show. This duo was a huge hit for creator Mike Judge and the show provided characters for the TV shows Daria and King of the Hill. Beavis & Butthead were so popular, they had their own video games, documentaries, books, a full length movie, and a series of Marvel comic books. In 2005, their laugh was rated at #66 of the top 100 Greatest TV Quotes and Catchphrases by TV Guide. |
