Additional Information | The Butterfinger candy bar was introduced in 1923 in Chicago, Illinois and is currently manufactured by the Nestle company. Beginning in 1988, Nestle teamed up with The Simpsons to promote the Butterfinger brand with Bart Simpson as their spokesperson. Bart Simpson and other characters from The Simpsons were featured in a number of advertisements from 1988 to 2001. Famous catch phrases including “Nobody better lay a finger on my Butterfinger!” and “Bite my Butterfinger!” were uttered by Bart during this lengthy ad campaign. In 2013, Butterfinger announced a new contest featuring Bart Simpson again called “Who Stole Bart’s Bar?” where contestants followed clues to determine which Simpsons character stole his Butterfinger. |
