Cabinalysis...or Build Your Own Damn Cabin! is a spoken word performance piece by the real-life psychiatrist, Lawrence Kerns, M.D. The story follows a middle-aged psychiatrist who devises a plan to salvage his relationship with his teenage children by getting them to build a replica Thoreau cabin in their backyard. 
The performance toured in 2010 and was featured at Fringe Festivals in Chicago, Kansas City, and Minnesota, 2nd Story Storytelling festivals, and Chicago Moth StorySlam where Kerns was a winner.
