| Additional Information | Star Trek is science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry. Star Trek aired on NBC from September 8, 1966 to June 3, 1969. The show follows the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as they explore space and to “boldy go where no man has gone before". The show takes place in the 23rd century in the Milky Way Galaxy. The original show lasted three seasons and spawned many other television series, movies, and books. William Shatner originally played James T. Kirk, the captain of the starship USS Enterprise. In the fictional universe of Star Trek, Starfleet is a deep-space exploratory, peacekeeping, and military service maintained by the United Federation of Planets. Captain Kirk had a tendency to ignore Starfleet regulations when he felt the end justified the means. |
