Additional Information | The phrase “dare to try” can mean to take a risk in an effort to achieve something. It relates to the Academy Award winning song “Over the Rainbow,” sung by American actress and singer Judy Garland (1922-1969) for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, in which a lyric stated, “and the dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true.” Daring to try involves risking the possibility of losing a safety net, getting out of a comfort zone, and challenging oneself for a chance to grow as a person and learn or gain something. Other ways to say “dare to try” include “be brave,” “take a chance,” “take a leap of faith,” and “go for it.” |
