Ed Murphy’s Safety Rangers was a program provided by WSYR, a radio station. The point of the program was to make children in schools more safety conscious by handing out badges and certificates. As mentioned in a newspaper clipping, this program was started around 1953. The radio station was started in 1922 in Syracuse and is still in existence today
