Additional Information | Infantile Paralysis, also know as Poliomyelitis or Polio, is a viral disease that was an epidemic in the United States from the 1890s through the 1950s. In 1938, President Franklin D. Roosevelt founded the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, to combat polio. This organization later became The March of Dimes and led the effort for the prevention and control of the disease. |
