Additional Information | The image of Charlotte Caffey, guitarist and songwriter for The Go-Go's, with a facemask and towel wrapped around her head was adapted from the cover of their debut album, "Beauty and the Beat," in 1981. It featured hit singles like "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed." In 1978, the Go-Go's were one of the first female bands to write, produce, and play their own songs, which were a mix of pop, punk, and rock. Charlotte Caffey wrote "We Got the Beat", which went to no. 1. The Go-Go's disbanded in 2023 before reuniting in 2024 to be inducted in the California Hall of Fame. In 2024, they announced plans to play the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, CA in 2025. |
